Tempdrop: A wearable fertility tracking device based on BBT measurement
Tempdrop, the first wearable BBT sensor, was founded in 2013 to address a growing problem in women's health. As technology has expanded options around fertility, women have been looking for alternatives to expensive fertility treatments and hormonal birth control to track their cycle. Natural fertility planning (NFP) is entering the mainstream and countless apps have entered the field with the promise of making NFP accessible to every woman.
The emergence of the “quantified self” and the idea that our smartphones can be powerful tools for personal health awareness propelled Tempdrop forward. Launched in early 2017, Tempdrop continues to be at the forefront of this conversation. As a fertility tracking wearable, Tempdrop not only saves women the hassle of early morning wake-ups, it helps women track their cycle whether they’re trying to conceive or avoid, and whether they have irregular sleeping schedules or sleep soundly each night.
